The race came about from my frustration that our Redmond Rousers Rotary Club had NO real, long-term Fundraiser. For many years people always asked me WHY we did not have a Bike Race/ride of some kind. So, this spring 2011, Shannon & I got to talking about her passion of riding and racing bicycles and the pure thrill of racing in ulta marathons and RAM qualifiers. And so, the Coup de Cascades RACE was born. Now, we try to make it a sanctioned race for bigger things to come.
We hope you enjoy the thrill of riding and the AWESOME scenery you will get to see while on this trip. The Race is a gruelling 414 miles of pure Cascades Mountain madness and the fact that you are helpping our Rotary Club, as WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Each year our club raises money to give others HOPE for a better future, Clean Water, Ending POLIO, 3rd Grade Dictionaries, Scholarships, construction projects, Nutrition programs, and more. You name it, we’ve probably done it. Thank You in advance, from all the little kids and people we help. Your committment and dedication to this race & project are beyond words.
