We are driving the course for the first time, mapping out 8 checkpoints

Rowdy Rouser, Rotarian Gordon, took off to trace the actual race course of the Coup de Cascades bicycle race today. He left Redmond’s Marymoor park, and went north on Hwy 202, through Woodinville, up to hwy 9. He continued up hwy 9, going north and stopped at what we hope will be the first checkpoint. He then went to the next 50 mile area and reported another checkpoint possibility. He did it again 55 mile down the road, and 3 possible checkpoints were scouted today.

More details to come soon, for checkpoints. Here in this photo you can see 2 hands from Kelly and Blaine, hard at work. They are working on computer stuff, for the race…getting all the details worked out. Blaine is one of our sponsors and is with WOM10, word of mouth on Steroids, a social media consulting company. He is responsible for getting our Redmond Rousers Rotary Club back on track and moving into our FUTURE.  Stay tuned…. for more info on race details.

Gordon’s desire to drive the route and race course is to gain perspective for riders. He is looking for things we need to watch out for. So, as we continue checking new places,  road conditions, rest areas, community partners, and checkpoints, we will make new posts here on the blog for everyone to follow. Thanks for reading our updates and asking for, and wanting more info. We want this to be a FUN & SAFE race, for everyone. Let’s do it right…. we want to make sure everyone has a great time.
