Countdown to Sept 24th – WHY it’s the best Inaugural bike race & ride EVER, in the PNW.

Pangs of excitement fill the air now-a-days…. with the Redmond Rousers Rotary members. Check out our ROTARY -FB page for more news and info. Our T-30 days is now ticking. How does an event like this happen? Well, I can tell you this, it has taken a lot of hours behind the scences, from MANY people and volunteers…. making it all come together. This blog post is dedicated to one of our wonderful partners, and CHECKPOINTS out on the race route. The WASHWORKS. We LOVE Anna…. and we love this picture by,  Bonnie Miffed. This is the road where racers will be coming into the Checkpoint, at Washworks.

Without the help of checkpoints and volunteers, none of this would be possible. Let me tell you a little about them. The WASHWORKS, in Twisp is an amazing OASIS, in town, out in the middle of Twisp. Most folks would say,  Twisp is in the middle of no-where. But this laundry-shower-steamroom is just what the Dr. ordered…  When you open the door to go inside, you find a friendly, CLEAN place to get, well…… cleaned up. Do your laundry, or for a small fee, they will do your laundry. They have showers for only $4.00 each, or a wonderful steam-room for only $10.00. Did I mention they have FREE wi-fi and have agreed to STAY OPEN…..  for our RACERS….. coming through town.  Maybe this could be a GREAT night for folks to do some midnight WASHING!…and cheer our Racers on to victory!!! Come on out and witness something crazy and FUN….and something worth supporting. Our Coup de Cascades Race will be donating money to the END POLIO NOW campaign.

Since this is our 1st ever race of this kind here in the Pacific N.W. it is hard to say, but we anticipate the riders will be through the area about midnight – 3am on Sunday SEPT 25th. They will be starting the Race in Redmond’s Marymoor park on Saturday SEPT 24th at 8am. So after a long day of cycling, they will need some R&R, or a shower or steam room. Rotarian, Scott Bell, a video producer and media specialist, from our Rotary club will be on-site at washworks, as our official RIC = Rotarian in Charge. He will be able to help answer any questions folks have for him or about the race and WHY we are doing it. Please pop in while you are in the area of twisp, Wa. at WASHWORKS, say HELLO to Anna, the boss, and owner. Don’t forget to LIKE her WASHWORKS -Facebook page and stay UP on what’s going on in TWISP, WA.

See ya on the Race Route!!  –  President Kelly  info@redmondrousersrotary.org
